MESSAGE FROM THE PARISH PRIEST

Blessings in the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ and welcome to the Roman Catholic Church of the Assumption situated in the very heart of Petaling Jaya. It is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in the Petaling District built in 1959.
I am Rev. Fr. Leonard Lexson, the current Parish Priest of the Church of the Assumption since January 2022. This is home coming for me as I was ordained in this parish 30 years ago. One year has passed so quickly and there is much to be grateful to God for the many blessings and graces He has poured upon us knowing that the pandemic had affected everyone in various ways. Assumption has been a beacon of hope and refuge for so many and will continue to remain through the powerful intercession of our Blessed Virgin Mother for all us, her children, knowing that the “Joy of the Lord is our strength.”
Soon we will be moving over to the Assumption Family House for our masses and all other activities when the Church undergoes renovations that will take about 6-7 months.
I ask for your continuous prayer and support that the renovation works will go on as planned and we will be able to celebrate Christmas in the renovated Church.
While we continue to recover and emerge from the challenges and struggles of the past three years, the Parish Pastoral and Coordinating Councils have been planning for the last six months focusing on Community Building and Hospitality as our way forward for our parish. Please look out for all upcoming activities/events/formations.
You are an important part of this process and we need you to help us and help one other to make known the joy of the Risen Lord through your full, conscious and active participation.
